Your email belongs on your own disk. Not only with your provider.
Mail Archive pulls Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft 365 and any IMAP account onto your computer. Attachments included, full-text search built in, no subscription. If an account gets locked or you switch providers, your archive stays where it is.
Free: 1 account, 20 emails to try it out. Pro is a one-time €14.99. All plans

Your own archive in three steps
No server, no admin, no training. If you can set up a mail client, you can set up Mail Archive.
Connect an account
Enter your address and password; “Auto-detect” finds the server settings. Gmail, Outlook.com, Microsoft 365 and your own IMAP or POP3 servers.
Pick folders and a start date
You decide which folders go into the archive and from which date. Attachments are saved as files if you want them.
Archive and find
Mail Archive downloads the messages to your disk. From then on, full-text search finds every invoice, contract and attachment, even offline.

What the app does. And what it doesn't.
Mail Archive is an archive, not a second mail client. It fetches, stores and finds. It doesn't send, doesn't reorganise, and doesn't push anything to a cloud.
Mail Archive is a local archiving app: it saves emails with their attachments on your own disk and makes them searchable. It is not a certified archive system and does not replace advice. Whether and how you must retain emails for tax or commercial law depends on your business; clarify that with your tax advisor. Local storage is also just a copy: back up your archive regularly as well.
Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft 365, IMAP, POP3
Any account that speaks IMAP or POP3. Server settings are detected automatically; SSL/TLS is the default.
Free: 1 account · Pro: 6 · Business: unlimitedStorage location: your disk
The archive lives on your computer or a drive you choose. No upload, no sharing, no account with us.
Full-text search across everything
Sender, recipient, subject, body and attachment names, across all accounts at once. Sorted by relevance.
Attachments as files
Invoices, contracts and images can be stored separately and opened directly.
Folders and start date
Just the inbox or every folder, from today or from 2015. The folder list can be refreshed from the server at any time.
Optionally mark archived mail as deleted
If you want, the app marks archived messages as deleted on the server to free up space. Off by default.
Export
Export archived emails to hand them over or store them elsewhere. Business exports in batches.
Pro: export · Business: batch exportCleanup after retention period
Automatically remove emails from the archive once their retention period has ended. For businesses that have to implement deletion policies.
BusinessNative on Mac and Windows
Not a web app, not a browser tab. An installed application with the same features on both systems.
Two platforms, one archive
The app is native on both systems. Buying and licensing work differently per platform, so here they are side by side.

Common questions
Answers to what people ask us most often by email. Missing something? Write to us.
Do I need an account with you?
No. There is no login and no registration. The app connects directly to your email provider. Only the Windows license key is checked once against our server when you activate it.
Where are my archived emails stored?
In an archive on your computer or on a drive you choose during setup. You can include the folder in your normal backup.
Which email accounts can I archive?
Any account reachable via IMAP or POP3: Gmail, Outlook.com, Microsoft 365, your own mail servers and more. The app usually detects the server settings automatically.
Do the emails stay with my provider?
Yes. Mail Archive only reads. If you explicitly switch it on, the app can mark archived messages as deleted on the server. By default it doesn't.
What happens to attachments?
Attachments can be stored as separate files in the archive folder and opened directly from the app. Search finds them by file name.
Is there a trial?
The free version is the trial: one account, 20 emails, no time limit. If the connection and folders work for you, upgrade to Pro or Business.
